Maritime AB, a ship owning company within the Stena
sphere, is currently seeking a Project Manager. The
Company is dedicated to a unique safety and quality
culture, along with continuous onboard maintenance,
in the operation of their vessels worldwide. Universe
Tankships operates today 19 vessels, mainly large tankers,
in the international spot markets. We are at the threshold
of an exciting development phase in the tanker-related
offshore projects involving, among other things, conversions
of tankers into FSO/FPSOs. As a result of other activities
in the Stena sphere, we are very well established in
the offshore market. We have a comprehensive network
of contacts and receive numerous inquiries concerning
conversion projects. In order to continue to advance
developments in the offshore field, we are strengthening
our organization with the addition of an International
Project Manager. The successful candidate will be a
qualified engineer, preferably a naval architect. He/she
will have ship/offshore project experience, including
conversion of existing tanker vessels to FSOs/FPSOs,
and be used to running projects independently and in
a structured way. The responsibilities will include
producing technical data in connection with tendering,
making presentations and selling ideas and solutions.
It will require taking full responsibility for technical
project management and actively monitor the market.
In addition, it will also involve frequent business
trips and meeting with a large number of international

STATE
OF WASHINGTON LEGAL NOTICE OF SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT -
The State of Washington, Department of Transportation
(WSDOT) announces its intention to establish a sole
source contract with Denny Miller Associates, Inc. The
consultant will perform liaison services between the
Washington State Department of Transportation and the
Congress and between the Department and the National
Administration in regard to federal transportation legislation.
Denny Miller Associates, Inc. has established expertise
with regard to WSDOT program goals and has cultivated
effective working relationships with Washington State’s
Congressional Delegation, key members of Congress involved
in transportation legislation and with key executives
at the federal and state levels. Because of their background,
this firm can perform the required services efficiently
and economically. This contrast will be issued in November,
1998 and will run for approximately three (3) years.
In the absence of other qualified sources, the Department
intends to make a sole source award of this contract.
Challengers are required to submit, on or before November
6, 1998, a brief statement of their Intent to Challenge,
outlining their ability to meet the Department’s requirements.
A firm’s intent to challenge should include the following
information: Firm name, address, phone and FAX numbers;
Names of Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager, and
Numbers of employees proposed to the project. If this
award is challenged, WSDOT will interview all qualified
firms in November, 1998, in Olympia, Washington. Selection
of the best qualified firm will be made at the interviews,
based upon the criteria for selection listed below:
1) Key personnel; 2) Firm experience in working with
Congress and the National Administration regarding federal
transportation legislative matters; 3) Evidence of sufficient
qualified and experienced personnel to accomplish the
required work; 4) Hourly billing rates to include; salary
rates; over-head, fringe benefits, general and administrative
costs; and profit, for all personnel to be assigned
